“For our own success to be real, it must contribute to the success of others.”
–Eleanor Roosevelt
We’ve written repeatedly about the incredible, positive power of having a full time job with benefits. It becomes even more positive and powerful when it is with a company dedicated to your growth and development over the long term.
We are lucky to have great companies in our communities that consistently invest in their people. Allow me to celebrate one that is special in the Columbus Region.
Honda has operated in the United States for 40 years. When Honda production began here in 1979, it changed the economy of Central Ohio and continues to do so today. Honda is a quiet company – even humble – but it that does not mean that it isn’t innovative and progressive. In an era when it is fashionable to question the motives of businesses, automakers, and foreign-owned companies, Honda is a shining example of a large company that treats people well, constantly innovates, and works in partnership with its local and state partners to advance our area.
Honda recently announced a $1.9 million training center to upskill Honda associates. Employees would be wise to take advantage of this as the company is racing towards the future. Not only does Honda design, engineer, and manufacture some of the most advanced vehicles in the world, but it offers careers in a variety of fields as it continues to transform into an electric and alternative fuel manufacturing leader. Their partnership with Columbus State is a national example of commitment to manufacturing, as is their ongoing collaboration with Ohio State University.
Thank you to Honda and the thousands of companies that not only provide great jobs, but continue to invest in their people so they advance and thrive. Business is good in the Columbus Region.
