If you held an international event in your community, what would the world see? This week, The Presidents Cup will bring thousands of visitors from several continents and international press to the Columbus Region. They will be met with enthusiasm and pride for sure, but they will also see a vibrant metropolitan region that is economically and culturally diverse, and investing in its own future.
Visitors will see construction cranes and plenty of hard hats, building everything from new housing and health care facilities to roads and bridges. They will see thriving arts, dining and entertainment scenes alongside our sports teams and facilities. When they read the morning paper they will see a region that is open to vigorous debate and is wrestling with tough issues, too – but with an appreciation for different perspectives.
Most importantly, our visitors will be met by talented people. People who are native to the area, and people who have brought their talent, unique perspectives and creativity from afar and now choose to call the Columbus Region home.
Let’s have a great week and showcase not only what we have built, but what we are building for future generations.
