Columbus, OH – Capital.Energy, a locally owned certified retail electric service (CRES) provider serving commercial and residential customers, announced plans to expand its existing facility in Westerville. The company plans to add 48 new sales and customer service positions, tripling its number of full-time employees, which is currently 16. The company will also expand its office space, with the option of nearly doubling its office size as growth warrants.

“The first three years since our launch have been exciting and rewarding. We’ve got a unique business model focused on the customer experience and are anxious to continue to build our team and our customer relationships,” said Capital.Energy Executive Director Tony King.

Founded in Ohio in 2014, Capital.Energy is active in all utilities in the state – AEP Ohio, FE (Ohio Edison, Toledo Edison, The Illuminating Company), Dayton Power and Light, and Duke. It offers customers highly competitive electric rates and price protection by using the latest technology and industry standard. A recent recipient of the Columbus Business First’s Fast 50 award, placing seventh overall, the company will expand into the Pennsylvania region by early 2018.

“Westerville and the Columbus Region have proven to be a vibrant place where local companies prosper,” said Westerville City Manager David Collinsworth. “We are proud that a high-growth company like Capital.Energy has chosen to remain rooted in our community as it expands.”

“Along with our partners at Columbus 2020, we welcome Capital.Energy’s expansion, which will double employment at its Westerville facility,” said JobsOhio Senior Director for Energy and Petrochemicals Dana Saucier. “Capital.Engergy’s rapid growth in Central Ohio will help this innovative company better serve its expanding customer base in other deregulated energy states.”
